Ecommerce Workshop For Farmers

The University of Tennessee Center for Profitable Agriculture will conduct a full-day “E-commerce for Direct Farm Marketers” workshop in Jonesborough on May 9.

This e-commerce workshop is designed to give direct marketing farms and agritourism operations an overview of the basic concepts and options for selling products online. The workshop sessions include information on:

• E-commerce software options for direct farm marketers.
• Digital branding and storytelling strategies for local food producers.
• Producer experiences using e-commerce.

“Several user-friendly, low-priced e-commerce software packages are designed specifically for the needs of direct farm marketers. There are software options for business websites, online farmers markets, CSAs, social media and farm-to-table events. Producers do not need extensive knowledge in computer programming to include e-commerce into their marketing strategy,” says Chuck Grigsby from the Center for Profitable Agriculture.
